But now Thursday 24th November. I wanted to comment on the news item that hairdressers are statistically the happiest people and Icelandic hairdressers are the happiest of all. I don't know about Iceland but it's no surprise that hairdressers are the happiest. It's because they're grooming hair all day and that's what apes like to do. That notion that gossip is the sort of verbal grooming that has developed since we became the naked ape has obscured the reality that we still have enough hair and we still groom it for each other. The fact that we're no longer doing it to get a reward of flakes of salt or fleas or lice to eat is irrelevant, it's still a pleasurable, soothing, and bonding activity. But this topic really deserves an entry under Updates so for further information watch that space.
(23rd Feb) Found Again! Lost in the wrong folder like so many paper documents! But I'll post it anyway to demonstrate what I'm like when not reduced by circumstances. It reminds me that on the 24th of November for a few hours the energy was flowing. It must have been around then I think that the first noxious fumes arising from the Great Drain Blockage drew themselves to my attention. Yesterday the water Company said the main sewers were clear and working normally. Fast work as you can see!
